MOVING FROM PAIN TO PURPOSE

Updated: Jan 3

Moving from pain to purpose and overcoming the obstacles to healing in life can be very difficult but it is possible! As a matter of fact, all things are possible through Christ Jesus!

I believe understanding that God has given you purpose and an assignment greater than your pain is extremely beneficial to your journey of healing. Knowing God has plans for you and care for you gives you hope! Jeremiah 29:11, says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

Pain and unforgiveness can leave you stuck or stagnant in not only your personal growth but your spiritual growth as well. This can cause you to forfeit or delay the many blessings God have for you.

I know firsthand that pain is real and can be difficult to overcome but it can be done. There was a time when my life was filled with pain, confusion, and lack. I owned hurt and walked in it on a regular basis. In the back of my mind and in my heart, I blamed those who had hurt me, and offence was my best friend. I also blamed myself. I refused to release the pain. Again, I know that pain is real, and I am not negating or making light of your trauma, hurt, or experience. However, I do want you to know that God is a healer and when he heals, he does it completely. Glory to God! Psalms 147:3, says, He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

It was not until I surrendered to God, forgave myself and others and told him all about my hurt and pain as well as my anger at my offender that I was able to completely receive my healing. To surrender means to cease to resist and submit to authority. This can be difficult especially if you are full of pride. I had to surrender my life to Jesus Christ and allow him to make something beautiful. I had to trust that he knows best. Father God took me through the healing processes and experiences, but it was well worth it. God knows the root of the pain and is the best healer and deliverer. He already has as strategy for your healing.

II Corinthians 4:16-18 says, Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

God wants to prepare you. Are you willing to allow him to prepare you for what he has for you? Today, let the resistance be over. We all know God has the solution for our healing, however, whether we embrace his solution is totally another story. If we are honest, we already have the answer, we just need the strength to obey and surrender. I pray for your strength to surrender today.

As Holy Spirit said to me “push against the pain” when I was birthing my daughter and thought I had no more strength to go any further, I say to you to push against the pain. Pain can be the instrument, apparatus, or mechanism to cause you to birth your promise! Come on push! It’s time to bring forth purpose!

It’s time to move from pain to purpose! God’s purpose brings blessing, fulfillment, happiness, and Kingdom living. I pray you overcome your pain and know your purpose and walk boldly in it.
