The Importance of Prayer

When I think of all that is going on in our world locally and abroad, I understand more and more the absolute necessity of prayer. Just recently there were several senseless murders in our community and bordering city. I want to challenge you to take time to pray. Pray for your city, community, family, co-workers, first-responders, friends, and the families who lost their loved ones in these terrible acts. Bind the hand of the devil and the spirit of murder over your city, community, universities and schools. The devil is always seeking whom he may devour but know that God is most powerful and your prayer is a weapon and a hedge. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results (James 5:16B).

Prayer, simply put is communicating with our heavenly Father through Christ Jesus. It is talking to him and allowing him to talk back to us spiritually. The more you pray, the closer you will become to God and know his voice. As a matter of fact, I have had people ask me this question: “How do you know the voice of God?” Well, the answer is not complex. You will know his voice when you spend time with God in prayer and reading his Word. Yes, it is that simple. When you become more in tune to prayer, Holy Spirit will lead you to pray more and more.

As a matter of fact, In I Thessalonians 5:17-18 says, never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Prayer must be important if the Bible says to “never stop” praying.

Here are 8 great reasons to pray more:

1. Prayer is loving communication with the Father (Rev 3:20)
2. Prayer provides divine protection (Psalms 91:11-12)
3. Prayer gives us boldness (Acts 4:31)
4. Prayer gives us direction (Psalms 23:3)
5. Prayer keeps us from temptation and put our flesh under subjection (Galatians 5:22-25)
6. Prayer keeps us connected (John 15:5-8)
7. Prayer reduces worry and stress (Philippians 4:5-7)
8. Prayer ensures our success (Mark 11:24)

My prayer for you is that you are blessed, safe, and healthy. Keep pushing in prayer and never give up!

Also remember, when you pray be sure to pray in faith and from a position of heirship. I talk more about this in my book, “You Have What the Father Has” (available as an eBook on Amazon) or go to my website at www.lydianance.com.
